Williamstown Theatre Festival has announced additions to its 2022 summer line-up. Alex Edelman's comedy show Just For Us will play the Main Stage August 3-6, having previously completed Off-Broadway runs at Cherry Lane Theatre and SoHo Playhouse, with a run at Greenwich House Theater that will be completed July 23.
Following on the Main Stage August 7, Tony winner James Naughton will present a benefit concert titled Jimmy Naughton & Friends. The show will feature songs from Naughton's career interspersed with stories and appearances by surprise guests. Proceeds will benefit Williamstown Theatre Festival.
Man of God, which has been extended and will now play the Nikos Stage July 5-22, will star Shirley Chen as Samantha, Emma Galbraith as Jen, Erin Rae Li as Mimi, Albert Park as Pastor, and Ji-young Yoo as Kyung-Hwa. Written by Anna Ouyang Moench and directed by Maggie Burrows, the show is produced in association with Geffen Playhouse and features the same cast and creative team as the Los Angeles run. The creative team includes scenic designer Se Hyun Oh, costume designer Denitsa Bliznakova, lighting designer Lap Chi Chu, fight director Thomas Isao Morinaka, and stage manager Lia Ann Chernoff. Original music and sound design is by Jonathan Snipes.
The festival has also announced its weekly new play reading series Fridays@3 will return. Featured this season will be And Then We Were No More by Tim Blake Nelson, to be directed by Mark Wing-Davey July 22, and tiny father by Mike Lew, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel August 5. More readings will be announced at a later date.
Casting has been announced for Most Happy in Concert, which celebrates Frank Loesser's score to the musical The Most Happy Fella. Tina Fabrique, Erin Markey, Mallory Portnoy, and Tony Award nominee Mary Testa have all joined the cast. Additional casting will be announced at a later date. The new production, set to play the Main Stage July 13-31 and produced in association with Fisher Center at Bard, will be directed by Tony Award nominee Daniel Fish and feature choreography by Jawole Willa Jo Zollar. The creative team features scenic designer Amy Rubin, costume designer Terese Wadden, lighting designer Stacey Derosier, sound designer Drew Levy, music director Sean Forte, and associate director Mikhaela Mahony. Music arrangements are by Daniel Kluger and Nathan Koci, vocal arrangements are by Koci and Fish, and orchestrations are by Kluger. Casting is by Taylor Williams.
Finishing out the season will be the world premiere of we are continuous, by Harrison David Rivers and to be directed by Tyler Thomas, with a run August 2-14 on the Nikos Stage. Lighting design will be by Amith Chandrashaker and scenic design will be by dots. Commissioned by Williamstown, casting, which is by The Telsey Office, will be announced at a later date.
