With a cast of familiar faces from the stage and screen, Discovering Broadway will present Five Points The Musical Concert at Indianapolis' Madam Walker Theatre February 10 at 7:30 PM.

Written by Douglas Lyons (Chicken and Biscuits), Ethan Pakchar (Hamilton), and Harrison David Rivers (the bandaged place), new music for Five Points was developed at Discovering Broadway's Writer's Retreat last fall.

Tony winner Jessie Mueller (Beautiful, Waitress) will star as Rona, joined by The Voice season 6 winner Josh Kaufman (Pippin, Home for the Holidays) as PT Barnum, Aisha Jackson (Frozen, Paradise Square) as Stella, T. Oliver Reid (Death of a Salesman, Hadestown) as Pete, and Michael Wordly (The Color Purple) as Willie. Local casting includes David Owens (The Voice), Morgan Wood (Hamilton), Jackson Mullen, and Scott Van Wyke. Further casting will be announced at a later date.

Set in 1863 New York City, the musical follows two performers: young African American Willie Lane who takes the stage at Almack's Dance Hall, and Irish immigrant and jig champion John Diamond. Through their stories, Five Points explores the birth of American tap dance and becoming a part of the American Dream.

Currently in development at Paper Mill Playhouse, the work features a book penned by Rivers, lyrics by Lyons, and music by Lyons and Pakchar.
