Tony-winning Tina: The Tina Turner Musical star Adrienne Warren is honoring the late icon with a concert evening with The New York Pops October 18 at Carnegie Hall. The ensemble is led by music director and conductor Steven Reineke.
Warren will be joined by fellow Broadway artists Shonica Gooden and Carla R. Stewart, with a song list expected to include "Private Dancer," "Let's Stay Together," "The Best," and more.
The concert opens the Pops' 2024-2025 season, which will also include several other Broadway favorites. Tony nominee Max von Essen (Anastasia, An American in Paris) will play a concert performance November 15, and Wicked (and soon-to-be Hell's Kitchen) star Jessica Vosk will be the group's special guest at the annual holiday concert, Merry and Bright, performing December 20 and 21.
Moving into 2025, the Pops will explore the songbook of Anything Goes and Kiss Me, Kate songwriter Cole Porter February 7. The evening will feature special guests Tony DeSare, Bria Skonberg, and John Manzari. The ensemble will close out the season with 100 Years of Epic Film Scores May 14, 2025.
Warren is also currently preparing to return to Broadway later this season, in Jason Robert Brown's The Last Five Years opposite Nick Jonas.
