A new musical adaptation of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women will receive a semi-staged concert in London's West End in 2025. Center Stage Records will also release a studio album of Jo—The Little Women Musical.
Dates for the concert, directed by JoAnn M. Hunter, and the studio album release will be announced at a later date. The recording will be led by Christine Allado (Hamilton) as Jo March, Chris Mann (The Phantom of the Opera) as Professor Bhaer, and Sophie Pollono (Young and the Restless)
as Amy March, backed by a 29-piece orchestra. Produced by Grammy
nominee and Emmy winner Nigel Wright, the album will be recorded in
January at London’s Abbey Road Studios.
Jo—The Little Women Musical, with music by Dan Redfeld and a book and lyrics by Christina Harding and John Gabriel Koladziej, follows the adventures of the March sisters’ odyssey into adulthood.
The creative team also includes lead producer Brian Purcell with general management by CDM Productions. 4 Times Entertainment, Inc. produces.
A different version of the famed Alcott novel, with a book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, played Broadway in 2005, earning a Tony Award nomination for Sutton Foster's leading performance as Jo.
