Signature Theatre's world premiere of Samuel D. Hunter's A Case for the Existence of God co-starring Kyle Beltran and Will Brill officially opens May 2 on the Ireme Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center. Performances began April 12 and are set to continue through May 15.
Directing former college roommates Beltran and Brill is Tony winner David Cromer. The play explores alienation and companionship, taking place in a cubicle in Southern Idaho and following two individuals as they unexpectedly choose to open up each of their worlds to the other.
A Case for the Existence of God launches Hunter's Residency 5. Signature Artistic Director Paige Evans said in an earlier statement, "We're thrilled that this humane and intimate play will be the first of three world premieres by the inimitable Sam Hunter that we'll share with our audiences over the next several years.”
The creative team also includes scenic designer Arnulfo Maldonado, costume designer Brenda Abbandandolo, lighting designer Tyler Micoleau, sound designer Christopher Darbassie, dramaturg John Baker, and production stage manager Katie Young. Casting is by Caparelliotis Casting. The show closes out Signature's 30th anniversary season.
