Industry News The Drama League Announces Line-Up for 2022 Fall Gala

The evening will feature exclusive previews of Death of a Salesman, The Karate Kid, KPOP, The Piano Lesson, and more.

The Drama League's 2022 Fall Gala line-up of performances and appearances is here. The October 17 event at City Winery, named Embrace the Season: A Drama League Celebration, will be directed by Tony nominee Sheryl Kaller (Mother and Sons, Next Fall).

The evening will feature performances and previews of The Karate KidKPOPDeath of a SalesmanThe Piano LessonBliss, Classic Stage Company's A Man of No Importance, and a sneak peek at Back to the Future. Serving as the event's house band will be The Broadway Sinfonietta (Ratatouille: The Tik Tok Musical).

The Arts Ally Award will also be awarded at the gala to 2022 honoree Caiola Productions, a New York-based theatre and film production and investment company led by Luigi and Rose Caiola. Caiola Productions has helped bring to the stage familiar shows such as Company, The Inheritance, Dear Evan Hansen, and Little Shop of Horrors.

Serving on the creative team for the event are associate director Joyce Chittick, production manager Teresa Cruz, stage manager Karen Schleifer, music supervisor Macy Schmidt, assistant directors Tai Thompson and Andrew Coopman, producing assistant Kaylin Kellin, assistant stage manager Joanna Schutzer, and vocal stylings from actor Beethovan Oden as the "Voice of God"/Announcer. The Drama League's Artistic Line Producer Ali Skye Bennet serves as producer.

Returning President of the Drama League Board of Directors Bonnie Comley said, “It is my pleasure to share how proud we are to provide such critical support to the American Theatre. Our upcoming Gala will celebrate our community by honoring the thrilling season ahead of Broadway and Off-Broadway theatre, and provide much-needed funds to support the young artists in our Director’s Project. We hope you will join us!" 

Mary Jain chairs the gala, which is receiving additional major support from BroadwayHD, City National Bank, Kirk Iwanowski and Steven Cohen, Una Jackman and Jay Alix with Talu Productions and Lakeview Productions, John Gore Organization, Nederlander Organization, and Susan Edelstein Productions.
