The cast also includes Andrew Durand (War Horse, Spring Awakening), Katie Ladner (Heathers: The Musical), Max Wilcox ("Glee"), Taylor Louderman (Bring It On: The Musical, "Peter Pan Live"), Ryann Redmond (If/Then, Bring It On: The Musical), Jennifer Geller, Jared Loftin, Bonnie Milligan, Larry Owens, Cole Ragsdale, Mimi Scardulla, Nyla Watson and Kalyn West.
The Off-Broadway engagement runs through Dec. 20 at the Acorn Theatre at Theatre Row, with an official opening night set for Dec. 3. Scott Schwartz directs, and Chase Brock choreographs.
Previously titled Fat Camp, the musical debuted in 2009 as part of the New York Musical Theatre Festival and played a brief Off-Broadway run in 2012. Here's how Vineyard bills the show: "Getting shipped off to weight-loss camp is hardly Robert’s idea of the perfect summer, but even he isn’t prepared for what can be lost or gained at Camp Overton, the No. 3 weight-loss camp in Southern Pennsylvania. With biting humor and irreverence, Gigantic tackles the growing pains of adolescence through the experiences of a bunch of misfit teens forced to find solace in one another as they look — inside and out — for acceptance, a hot make-out session, and the last contraband Butterfinger."
Gigantic features set design by Timothy R. Mackabee, costume design by Gregory Gale, lighting design by Jeff Croiter and sound design by John Shivers and David Patridge. Music supervision, arrangements and orchestrations are by Dominick Amendum. Musical direction is by Aaron Jodoin, and casting is by Michael Cassara, CSA.
