Concluding Dec. 20
Gigantic (Off-Broadway at the Acorn Theatre). The Vineyard Theatre's new musical comedy Gigantic, about the coming-of-age of a group of teens at a weight-loss camp, features Leslie Kritzer, Burke Moses, Andrew Durand, Katie Ladner, Max Wilcox, Taylor Louderman, Ryann Redmond, Jennifer Geller, Jared Loftin, Bonnie Milligan, Larry Owens, Cole Ragsdale, Mimi Scardulla, Nyla Watson and Kalyn West. Set in Southern Pennsylvania, the Off-Broadway musical features a book by Randy Blair and Tim Drucker, lyrics by Blair and music by Matt roi Berger. Here's how Vineyard bills the show: "Getting shipped off to weight-loss camp is hardly Robert's idea of the perfect summer, but even he isn't prepared for what can be lost or gained at Camp Overton, the No. 3 weight-loss camp in Southern Pennsylvania. With biting humor and irreverence, Gigantic tackles the growing pains of adolescence through the experiences of a bunch of misfit teens forced to find solace in one another as they look — inside and out — for acceptance, a hot make-out session, and the last contraband Butterfinger." Oh, Hello On (Off) Broadway (Off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theatre). Comedians Nick Kroll and John Mulaney, stars of "Oh, Hello," a recurring segment on Comedy Central's "Kroll Show," reprise their roles from the TV sketch comedy as Gil Faizon and George St. Geegland. "Fresh off the success of their hit prank show 'Too Much Tuna,' these two Alan Alda-obsessed Upper West Side bachelors are returning to their roots in New York theatre," state press notes. Both characters are billed as such: "Geegland (star) was born in Newark, NJ to verbally abusive parents sometime in the early mid 1940s. In 1971 he published his first novel Rifkin's Dilemma, a real 70's novel about masturbation and such. It has aged terribly. St Geegland taught creative writing for 12 years at SUNY Yonkers - Go Zebras! - until he was fired for stuff that is in sealed documents." Visit Oh-Hello-k3g4.squarespace.com.

After a surprise reunion on Marcus's 40th birthday, their worlds are shattered by an unexpected turn of events." Visit SignatureTheatre.org.
