The world premiere of composer Obie winner Heather Christian's Oratorio for Living Things played its final performance May 14. The run has been cut short due to positive COVID cases within the company, which officially opened at Ars Nova @ Greenwich House March 30 after a postponement from its original run dates.

Obie winner Lee Sunday Evans directs the work, a fusion of music and theatre, surrounding the audience with 18 singers and instrumentalists to perform Christian's classical oratorio, infused with blues, gospel, jazz, and soul sounds. 

The ensemble cast features Kirstyn Cae Ballard, Fraser A. Campbell, Sean Donovan, Carla Duren, Clérida Eltime, Ashley Pérez Flanagan, Brian Flores, Odetta Hartman, Quentin Oliver Lee, Angel Lozada, Barrie Lobo McLain, Ben Moss, John Murchison, Onyie Nwachukwu, Mona Seyed-Bolorforosh, Dito van Reigersberg, and Peter Wise.

Included on the creative team are music director Ben Moss, scenic designer Kristen Robinson, costume designer Márion Talán de la Rosa, lighting designer Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew, and sound designer Nick Kourtides. Greg Taubman serves as Latin consultant and translator. Joseph Fernandez, Jr. serves as production stage manager, and Kelsey Vivian as assistant stage manager. Casting is by Henry Russell Bergstein.
