Rebecca Lock in Elf

Completing the cast for the upcoming West End return of Elf the Musical, West End alum Rebecca Lock (CurtainsHeathers) will star as Emily Hobbs. The musical will begin performances at the Dominion Theatre—where the musical made its London premiere—November 14 ahead of its November 24 opening night. The strictly limited eight-week engagement is scheduled through January 7, 2023.

Lock joins the previously announced Simon Lipkin (Brian & Roger, Rock of Ages) as Buddy and Georgina Castle (Cinderella, 9 to 5: The Musical) as Jovie, as well as Tom Chambers, who will play Walter Hobbs. The cast will also feature Kim Ismay (Wicked, Mamma Mia!) as Debs, Nicholas Pound (Cats) as Santa, and Dermot Canavan (Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof) as Store Manager. Dexter Barry, Logan Clark, Alfie Morwood and Frankie Treadaway will alternate the role of Michael.

Rounding out the cast are Evonnee Bentley-Holder Kyle Cox, Jade Davies, Bethan Downing, Francis Foreman, Morgan Gregory, Ryan Jupp, Ellis Linford-Pill, Shane O'Riordan, Theo Reece, Chloe Saunders, Heather Scott-Martin, Jessica Spalis, Michael Tyler, Katie Warsop, and Natalie Woods.

Alan Williams joins the creative team as music director under the leadership of director Philip Wm. McKinley. Also included on the creative team will be original set and costume designer Tim Goodchild, choreographer Liam Steel, lighting designer Patrick Woodroffe, video designer Ian William Galloway, and wig and hair designer Richard Mawbey. Sound will be by Gareth Owen, with casting by Grindrod Burton Casting.

Featuring a book by Tony winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone), with songs by Tony nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), Elf is based on the 2003 New Line Cinema film starring Will Ferrell. The musical made its Broadway debut in 2010 at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre and returned there in 2012.

Elf follows Buddy, a human raised as an elf in the North Pole after mistakenly crawling into Santa's bag as a baby. Unable to fit in, Buddy goes too New York to find his birth father and where he belongs while bringing the meaning of Christmas back to the city, with Santa's permission, of course!

Elf the Musical is produced by Temple Live Entertainment.
