It's a home run! Prime Video's A League of Their Own has premiered its first full trailer. Co-created by Sony Pictures Television, the highly anticipated series will began streaming August 12. The series consists of eight episodes and is based on the cult classic film penned by Mr. Saturday Night co-writers and 2022 Tony nominees Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel.
The reboot's stars include Broadway favorites Roberta Colindrez, Chanté Adams, Molly Ephraim, and Rosie O'Donnell. The drama tells the story of a generation of women who dreamed of playing professional baseball and their relationships on and off the field as they battle sexism in the industry. The show is said to take a look at race and sexuality among its ensemble of characters. Watch the full-length trailer above.
Also in the cast are Abbi Jacobson as Carson, D'Arcy Carden as Greta, Gbemisola Ikumelo as Clance, Nick Offerman as Dove, Saidah Arrika Ekulona as Toni, Kate Berlant as Shirley, Kendall Johnson as Gary, Kelly McCormack as Jess, Alex Désert as Edgar, Priscilla Delgado as Esti, Aaron Jennings as Guy, Melanie Field as Jo, and Dale Dickey as Beverly.
The series is co-created and executive produced by Will Graham and Jacobson. Executive producers are Hailey Wierengo, Desta Tedros Reff, with pilot director Jamie Babbit.
