International News The Bodyguard Musical Sets U.K. and Ireland Tour

The jukebox musical is based on Lawrence Kasden’s Oscar Award-nominated film starring the late Whitney Houston and features a score made up of her music.

The Bodyguard is set to tour the UK and Ireland, embarking from Glasgow King’s Theatre January 28, 2023.

Based on Lawrence Kasden’s 1992 Oscar Award-nominated film starring the late Whitney Houston and Kevin Costner and adapted by Academy Award winner Alexander Dinelaris, the musical follows former secret service agent turned bodyguard Frank Farmer on his assignment to protect superstar Rachel Marron from a stalker. The Olivier Award-nominated adaptation had its world premiere in 2012 at London’s Adelphi Theatre, followed by U.K. and Ireland tour. A cast recording was released in 2016.

The jukebox musical features a variety of the Houston's chart-topping singles, including "One Moment in Time", "I Have Nothing", "I Wanna Dance with Somebody", and "I Will Always Love You".
