June 13, 2010 Memphis is named Best Musical and Red is named Best Play in the 64th annual Tony Awards.
July 15, 2010 The season opens with Harry Connick, Jr. in Concert on Broadway, in which the crooner sings original pop songs and some of his favorite showtunes. August 1, 2010 After a hiatus of several weeks, A Little Night Music reopens with Elaine Stritch and Bernadette Peters replacing Angela Lansbury in the role of Madame Armfeldt and Tony-winner Catherine Zeta-Jones as her daughter Desiree.

August 29, 2010 The 2009 Tony Awards telecast wins the Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Variety, Music or Comedy Special. The award is accepted by Dave Boone and Paul Greenberg.
September 28, 2010 Brief Encounter, Emma Rice's expressionistic stage adaptation of Noël Coward's film about a bittersweet love affair between two married people, features several members of the original U.K. Kneehigh Theatre cast.
September 30, 2010 Another West End-to-Broadway transfer, The Pitmen Painters, traces the lives of a group of miners who take an art class and wind up as world-famous artists.
October 3, 2010 Cherry Jones stars in a revival of George Bernard Shaw's scandalous 1894 play Mrs. Warren's Profession, about a proper English young lady who is shocked to discover that her family business is running brothels. Directed by Doug Hughes.

November 18, 2010 Lincoln Center Theater hosts A Free Man of Color, John Guare's historical comedy that mixes fact and fiction in telling the adventures of a mixed-race rake in the high-society salons and bedrooms of early 19th-century New Orleans.
November 21, 2010 Brendan Fraser and Denis O'Hare play two inmates from a mental institution who, under the supervision of a social worker, are given a shot at living on their own in Simon Bent's U.K.-originated comedy, Elling.
November 28, 2010 The first preview of Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark. During the following months of previews — the most ever for a Broadway show — the production acquired a new director, librettist and leading lady, and the opening was pushed into the 2011-2012 season.
December 9, 2010: Donny and Marie: A Broadway Christmas is a holiday music-and-dance revue featuring the brother/sister singing team.

March 3, 2011 A down-on-her-luck South Boston woman (Frances McDormand) finds herself in moral hot water when she hits up a successful old flame for a job in Good People, Manhattan Theatre Club's world-premiere presentation of David Lindsay-Abaire's drama.
March 11, 2011 Standup comedian Kathy Griffin dishes the dirt on today's crop of celebrities in her solo show, Kathy Griffin Wants a Tony, marking the first time the Tony Awards have been mentioned by name in the title of a Broadway show.
March 17, 2011 A Broadway revival of Tom Stoppard's Arcadia, which jumps back and forth in time from the 19th century to the present. Featuring Billy Crudup, Raúl Esparza and Margaret Colin, the production is based on David Leveaux's 2009 London revival.
March 20, 2011 In the new musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert, three drag queens cross the dusty and often homophobic Australian outback in a brightly painted bus named Priscilla so one of them can reunite with his son. The show was written by Stephan Elliott and Allan Scott, based upon the similarly titled film, using a score of pop hits.
March 22, 2011 Emmy Award-winning comic, writer and actor John Leguizamo brings his new autobiographical solo show, Ghetto Klown, to Broadway.

March 27, 2011 Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe dons a bowtie and American accent to make his Broadway musical debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in Rob Ashford's revival of Frank Loesser's musical satire on corporate America, How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, opposite John Larroquette.
March 31, 2001 Rajiv Joseph's ferocious comedy Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo follows the intertwined stories of a tiger's ghost (Robin Williams), two American marines and an Iraqi gardener in wartime Baghdad as they try to make sense of a world gone to pieces.
April 7, 2011 Sutton Foster plays Reno Sweeney to Joel Grey's Moonface Martin in Kathleen Marshall's revival of Cole Porter's classic shipboard musical comedy Anything Goes.
April 10, 2011 Catch Me If You Can, the film comedy about a bold young con man, becomes a new musical from the Hairspray team of Marc Shaiman (Music, Lyrics), Scott Wittman (Lyrics) and Terrence McNally (Book). Jack O'Brien directs a cast headed by Norbert Leo Butz, Aaron Tveit, Tom Wopat, and Kerry Butler. April 11, 2011 Chris Rock plays an ex-con Alcoholics Anonymous sponsor in Stephen Adly Guirgis' comedy The Motherf**ker with the Hat, which also features Bobby Cannavale, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Annabella Sciorra and Yul Vazquez.
April 14, 2011 A boy crosses the battlefields of World War I to retrieve his pet horse who has been sold to the cavalry in Lincoln Center Theater's transfer of the National Theatre's War Horse, directed by Marianne Elliott and Tom Morris.

April 19, 2011 Kathleen Turner plays a nun who agrees to counsel a tough 19-year-old drug addict in Matthew Lombardo's drama High, also starring Stephen Kunken and Evan Jonigkeit.
April 20, 2011 Patina Miller and Victoria Clark star in a stage musical adaptation of the film Sister Act, about a singer on the run who transforms the lives of a convent full of nuns when she hides out among them. Jerry Zaks directed the show, which has a score by Alan Menken and Glenn Slater and originated in London.
April 21, 2011 The hit London drama Jerusalem tells the story of a former daredevil motorcyclist (Mark Rylance) on a drug-and booze-filled adventures as a modern-day Pied Piper.
April 24, 2011 Jim Belushi, Nina Arianda, and Robert Sean Leonard star in a revival of the 1946 Garson Kanin comedy Born Yesterday, about a classic dumb-blonde character who smartens up enough to turn the tables on her corrupt businessman boyfriend.
April 25, 2011 A revival of John Guare's 1966 dark comedy The House of Blue Leaves, about people with big dreams headed for destinations that include Hollywood, Vietnam, heaven and the mental institution of the title. With Edie Falco, Ben Stiller and Jennifer Jason Leigh.
April 27, 2011 The new musical Baby It's You! tells the true-life story of a New Jersey housewife (Beth Leavel) who discovers the all-girl group the Shirelles and becomes a driving force in the early 1960s music business. With a book by Floyd Mutrux and Colin Escott (Million Dollar Quartet), and a score of hits from the period.
April 27, 2011 Actor Joel Grey crosses the footlights to co-direct with George C. Wolfe a revival of Larry Kramer's searing drama about the early days of the AIDS epidemic, The Normal Heart. Joe Mantello crosses the footlights in the other direction to star opposite John Benjamin Hickey and Ellen Barkin.
April 28, 2011 The People in the Picture, a new musical starring Donna Murphy as an American grandmother trying to keep alive her days in European Yiddish theatre through her granddaughter, has a book and lyrics by "Beaches" novelist Iris Rainer Dart and music by Mike Stoller (Smokey Joe's Café) and Artie Butler.
June 12, 2011: The 65th Annual Tony Awards are given at the Beacon Theatre.
