Sarah Hyland (Modern Family, Little Shop of Horrors) will succeed Tony nominee Eva Noblezada as Daisy Buchanan in the Broadway musical adaptation The Great Gatsby.

Beginning performances February 10, 2025, Hyland will star opposite the previously announced Ryan McCartan (Wicked, Frozen) as Jay Gatsby, who begins performances January 21, 2025. The musical’s original stars, Tony nominee Jeremy Jordan (Newsies, Smash) and Noblezada (Hadestown, Miss Saigon) will play their final performances as Jay and Daisy on January 19 and January 30, respectively.

Hyland made her Broadway debut in Grey Gardens as a young Jackie Bouvier, and returned to the New York stage earlier this year as Audrey in the hit Off-Broadway revival of Little Shop of Horrors. This year, she was honored with the first-ever Variety Courage Award at the magazine’s Power of Women gala, for her work as an advocate for domestic abuse survivors and animal welfare.

The Great Gatsby will also kick off the Centennial Celebration of the novel January 16, when the musical hosts a benefit in partnership with The New York Public Library, honoring the centennial of the novel’s publishing. The evening will begin with a gala performance starring Jordan and Noblezada, culminating with a party at The New York Public Library, with all proceeds benefiting The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts. The evening will also toast the final performance week for original star Jordan and the passing of the torch to McCartan.

Based on the classic F. Scott Fitzgerald novel, The Great Gatsby features music and lyrics by Nathan Tysen (Paradise Square) and Jason Howland (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) and a book by Jonathan Larson Grant winner Kait Kerrigan (The Mad Ones). Marc Bruni (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical) directs with choreography by Dominique Kelley (Mariah’s Magical Christmas Special).

Set in the Roaring '20s, the musical follows eccentric millionaire Jay Gatsby, who will stop at nothing in his tragic pursuit of Daisy Buchanan, a wealthy young woman whom he loved in his youth.

The Broadway cast is currently led by Jordan (Newsies) as Jay Gatsby and Eva Noblezada (Hadestown) as Daisy Buchanan with Noah J. Ricketts (Frozen) as Nick Carraway, Sara Chase (The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt) as Myrtle, Samantha Pauly (Six) as Jordan Baker, John Zdrojeski (Good Night Oscar) as Tom Buchanan, Charlie Pollock (Urinetown) as George Wilson, and Eric Anderson (Moulin Rouge!
