LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater, in collaboration with Tamasha: A Festival @ Hypokrit Theatre, hosted an event at LCT3’s Claire Tow Theater to raise visibility for the South Asian theatre community, May 3.

The event featured a panel moderated by Natasha Sinha (Associate Director of LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater) and Arpita Mukherjee (Artistic Director of Hypokrit Theatre Company) about American theatre today and progress with regards to the representation of South Asian artists and their stories. The panelists included Pulitzer Prize winner and 2018 Tony nominee Ayad Akhtar (Disgraced, Junk), actor Sanjit De Silva (An Ordinary Muslim, War Horse), playwright Madhuri Shekar (Queen), and writer-director-performer Aneesh Sheth (Masculinity Max).
