Mark your calendars! Second Stage has announced run dates for their anticipated productions of The Thanksgiving Play and White Girl in Danger.

The Thanksgiving Play will begin previews on Broadway at the Hayes Theater March 23, and will open April 20. White Girl in Danger will begin previews Off-Broadway March 15, and will open April 10.

Additionally, Stephen Adly Guirgis' Pulitzer-winning Between Riverside and Crazy has announced a weeklong extension to its limited Broadway run.

Larissa FastHorse will become the first female Native American playwright produced on Broadway when The Thanksgiving Play begins performances, with the production helmed by Tony-winning Hadestown director Rachel Chavkin.

Described as a satirical comedy, the play centers on a troupe of well-meaning white theatre artists who attempt to create a culturally sensitive Thanksgiving school pageant that gives voice to Native Americans. The work received its world premiere Off-Broadway in 2018 at Playwrights Horizons, and an online production starring Bobby Cannavale, Keanu Reeves, Heidi Schreck, and Alia Shawkat streamed in March 2021. The Broadway bow will be a new production.

A Strange Loop Tony and Pulitzer winner Michael R. Jackson's new musical White Girl in Danger, will be co-produced Off-Broadway by Second Stage and Vineyard Theatre Company. Tony nominee Lileana Blain-Cruz (The Skin of Our Teeth) will direct the musical, and Raja Feather Kelly (A Strange Loop) is attached to choreograph.

The work transports audiences to soap opera town Allwhite, where Keesha Gibbs and the other "blackgrounds" look to center their own narratives while avoiding certain death at the hands of the Allwhite Killer. The work has been in development at the Vineyard through a multi-year residency for Jackson, and previously performed a developmental reading at New York Stage and Film.

Between Riverside and Crazy, which opened at the Hayes Theater December 19, 2022, began previews November 30, and will now continue through February 19, rather than the original February 12 closing date. Performances through the end of the run are available to stream live.

A comedic look at life in rent-controlled New York City, Guirgis' play follows recently widowed ex-cop Walter "Pops" Washington and his recently paroled son Junior as they try to hold onto their rent-stabilized apartment.
