Off-Broadway News Len Cariou Will Star in Off-Broadway Tuesdays With Morrie

The Sweeney Todd Tony winner will play the title role in Mitch Albom's story.

Len Cariou (Sweeney ToddA Little Night Music) will star in the title role of an upcoming Off-Broadway staging of Mitch Albom's Tuesdays With Morrie, set to play St. George's Episcopal Church March 1-23. Opening night will be March 7.

Joining Tony winner Cariou in the cast will be Chris Domig as Mitch. The production will also feature vocalist (and Playbill Search for a Star winner) Sally Shaw, with original music written and performed on piano by Domig.

Adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher and Albom from the latter's book, Tuesdays With Morrie follows Albom as he reconnects with a former sociology professor after learning he's battling Lou Gehrig's disease.

Erwin Maas is directing the upcoming production, which will feature set and lighting design by Guy de Lancey and sound design by Eamon Goodman. James Fitzsimmons will be stage manager.

The staging is a production of Sea Dog Theater.
