Kelly Clarkson and Billy Gilman sing “It’s Quiet Uptown”

On Part 2 of the live finale of NBC’s The Voice December 13, finalist Billy Gilman sang “It’s Quiet Uptown” as a duet with vocal superstar Kelly Clarkson. Clarkson sings the track as a solo on the recently released The Hamilton Mixtape.

Gilman, a member of Team Adam, finished as the runner-up. (Sundance Head won the 11th season.) The 28-year-old singer began as a country artist and experienced the beginnings of a successful music career before auditioning for the reality singing competition. His single, “One Voice,” was a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2000. Gilman auditioned with Adele’s “When We Were Young,” and while all four voice coaches turned their chairs around, Gilman chose to compete with Team Adam Levine.

For one of his final performances, in a non-competitive round, Gilman sang the Hamilton tune.
