News Get a Preview of Songs from Amelie, LMNOP and More at Bound for Broadway 2015 Liz Callaway (Cats, Miss Saigon) will host Kaufman Music Center's Bound for Broadway, an event previewing songs from shows headed to New York stages. Bound for Broadway will take place at Kaufman Music Center's Merkin Concert Hall Oct. 12 at 7:30 PM.

Bound for Broadway previews songs from some of the new musicals headed to New York theatres. Past audiences were some of the first to see performances from Next to Normal, Avenue Q, The Drowsy Chaperone and Tuck Everlasting.

Callaway will perform songs from upcoming musicals and introduce some of the creative minds behind them. She will be joined by Craig Lucas (An American in Paris), Nathan Tysen (Tuck Everlasting), Joe Kinosian and Kellen Blair (Murder for Two), who will discuss their newest projects.

The 2015 Bound for Broadway musicals include Amelie, The More Things Change, LMNOP and The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen.

Amelie features a book by Craig Lucas, lyrics by Nathan Tysen and music by Dan Messé. The show is billed as such: "This new musical is based on the Oscar-winning 2001 French film starring Audrey Tatou as a shy Parisian waitress with a wild imagination."

The More Things Change features a book and lyrics by Kellen Blair and music by Joe Kinosian. The show is billed as "a backstage musical comedy about two middle-aged actors battling to set the record straight about their shaky romantic past." LMNOP features a book and lyrics by Scott Burkel and music by Paul Loessel. "When letters begin to fall from a monument in town, government officials ban them one by one," according to press notes. "Chaos ensues until a determined teenage girl rallies the community to fight for freedom of speech. This unique musical is part romance, part clever word game and part adult fable that reminds us of how precious our liberties are; how quickly unbridled extremism can take them from us; and how important it is to have the courage to stand up for what we believe."

The Remarkable Journey of Prince Jen features a book and lyrics by Lezlie Wade and music by Daniel Green. The show is billed as such: "Adapted from the children’s book by the award-winning late writer Lloyd Alexander (best known for his 'Chronicles of Prydain' and 'The Black Cauldron' series), this musical takes place in ancient China and follows the magical journey of Prince Jen and his quest to save his kingdom from destruction."

Bound for Broadway is part of Kaufman Music Center's Broadway Close Up series.

The 2015 Broadway Close Up cast members include Liz Callaway, Betty Buckley, Kate Baldwin, Joshua Henry, Matthew Scott, Alysha Umphress, Alison Blackwell, Michael Winther, KT Sullivan, Erin Comstock, Barbara Fasano and Sally Wilfert.
