Stage to Page Broadway Box-Office Analysis: November 21–27 Thanksgiving week brought crowds and cash to Broadway, with Hamilton setting an all-time weekly record.

Thanksgiving and the influx of tourists boosted the Broadway box-office the week of November 21-27. Broadway shows brought in a total of $35,280,351 up sharply from the previous week’s take of $26,762,454. Theatres were 85.44 percent full, with theatregoers paying an average of $124.68 per ticket.

The Lin-Manuel Miranda hit Hamilton was the top earner, taking in $3,260,088.75, the biggest total ever for a standard eight-performance week. The show also commanded the highest-price premium ticket on Broadway, at $998 last week. On average, Hamilton audiences paid $303.21 per ticket, another all-time weekly record.

Thanksgiving anchored a good week for the Irving Berlin musical Holiday Inn, which had its best week yet on Broadway ($662,977.50), and the new musical Dear Evan Hansen held strong in its second week of preview performances, taking in $883,677.40, and playing to 99 percent capacity.

Boosted by its Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade performance, Waitress had the best single-performance gross ever, taking in $162,208 on November 25 (a new record at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre).

The two-actor comedy Oh, Hello on Broadway brought in $618,882, its best week since performances began in September.

The revival of Fiddler on the Roof, which ends its run in January, had its best week since March, with the family classic bringing in $1,056,473.74.
