Off-Broadway News Bedlam Theatre Company Announces 2023 Season

The Off-Broadway company will stage two world premieres.

Off-Broadway's Bedlam Theatre Company has announced the lineup of its 2023 season, including two world premieres at the Connelly Theater.

The first, Fall River Fishing by Zuzanna Szadowski and Deborah Knox, is a comedic reimaging of the story of Lizzie Borden. Directed by Eric Tucker, the play goes beyond what did or did not happen in 1892, rocketing through questions of Hollywood stardom, unrequited love, self loathing, and the many ways in which life can disappoint a dreamer. The premiere will run February 17-March 9.

The second premiere, The Good John Proctor by Talene Monahon, examines the lead up to the Salem Witch Trials and the history that was rewritten by Arthur Miller in The Crucible. The premiere will be directed by Caitlin Sullivan, marking the first time a Bedlam production has not been directed by Eric Tucker, the artistic director of the company. Performances are scheduled for March 11-April 1.

Casting and additional creative team members will be announced at a later date.

Both productions will feature Pay What You Can performances as a part of Bedlam's Access Ticket Initiative.
