News Andrew Scott, Soon to Appear on the London Stage in The Dazzle, Eyes Hamlet Andrew Scott, soon to appear on the London stage in the U.K premiere of Richard Greenberg's The Dazzle, is reported to be in "advanced discussions" to play Hamlet at London's Almeida Theatre.

Scott, who is best known for playing Moriarty in TV's "Sherlock" opposite Benedict Cumberbatch who has just starred in his own smash production of Hamlet at the Barbican Theatre, has previously appeared on Broadway in the world premiere of David Hare's The Vertical Hour in 2006, and on the London stage in Birdland at the Royal Court and Aristocrats and Emperor and Galilean (both National Theatre).

He is currently to be seen in a leading role of "C" in the Bond film "Spectre." Other films include Ken Loach's "Jimmy's Hall" and Matthew Warchus' "Pride." He is also currently to be seen in "Victor Frankenstein" with James McAvoy and Daniel Radcliffe, and the May 2016 "Alice: Through the Looking Glass" with Johnny Depp.



According to reporter Baz Bamigboye in the Daily Mail, "dates [for Scott's Hamlet] are being negotiated, but late 2016 into early 2017 is the time-frame being examined." The play would be directed by Robert Icke, the Almeida's associate director. The Almeida has not confirmed the production.
