AUDITION NOTICE
Hale Centre Theatre (Sandy, UT) is pleased to announce auditions for their upcoming production of THE PRINCE OF EGYPT. Auditions will be by video submission only and will be done via the following link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd5fyUue0jzaqWLgUAnCfOpqfWZzGNF697ikbZcX-4abnVaBQ/viewform?usp=sf_link. Please have your video ready as a YouTube link BEFORE you sign up. All video submissions will be due by 10pm, Friday, July 19, 2024. Videos submitted after 10pm will not be considered.
Journey through the wonders of Ancient Egypt as Ramses and Moses, two young men raised together as brothers in a kingdom of privilege, find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. One must rule as Pharaoh, the other must rise up and free his true people; both face a destiny that will change history forever.
THE PRINCE OF EGYPT will be directed by Dave Tinney, with music direction by Alex Marshall and choreography by Lindsey Diane Smith. THE PRINCE OF EGYPT will play on our Centre Stage from February 17, 2025 through April 12, 2025.
All roles are open and may be double cast. We are looking for a diverse group of men & women to play character roles. We are also looking for a male & female child, to play age 8-10. Please see the character descriptions for more details. For this production we will not be able to offer any AEA contracts. For those needing to relocate to Salt Lake City, housing can be discussed.
FOR YOUR VIDEO: Please submit as a YouTube link (one link ONLY). Please slate at the beginning of your video and tell us your name. For children, please show your full length body shot, side & front. When singing, please move forward so we can see you from the chest up. Please prepare no more than 30-45 seconds of song in the style of the show. Please no a cappella singing. Please include the DANCE requirement for the audition in the same video (please don’t send 2 links). You can find the dance audition video at: https://youtu.be/dTWqVJMlyZ0. If you are auditioning for the roles of SETI, QUEEN TUYA or HOPTEP, you do not need to include the dance.
Call backs will be held in person on Saturday, August 3, 2024 and will be by invitation only. There will be reading, singing and dancing at the call backs. All cast members are paid and pay rates, depending on the role, range from $40 to $150 per performance. Weekday Matinees are paid at an additional $20 per performance.
