Performance Venue: New Canaan Country School, 635 Frogtown Rd, New Canaan, CT

Overview:

Rising Stars Performing Arts (RSPA) is a fast-growing, non-profit performing arts school organization now in its third year, producing high-quality performances year-round. We’re currently seeking an experienced Theatre Technical Engineer to support our upcoming productions of Wizard of Oz and Wizard of Oz Youth. We have a Technical Director on the project, but with two shows and a compressed tech schedule, we need an additional professional to help ensure our lighting and sound programming is ready for both productions.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional, recent graduate, or apprentice looking to gain professional experience in a supportive, dynamic environment. Continued opportunities for future gigs may also be available as we expand.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with our Technical Director on lighting and sound design for both productions.

Program lighting cues on the console, ensuring high-quality lighting transitions and consistency across both shows.

Assist with sound setup and programming if applicable.

Work within tight tech schedules, helping bring both productions to performance-ready status.

Qualifications:

Experience programming lighting consoles for theatre productions.

Knowledge of lighting design principles.

Experience with sound design or setup is a plus.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under time constraints.

Compensation:

$100 per rehearsal or performance day.

Why Join Us?

As a part of the RSPA team, you’ll gain valuable experience with a respected, growing organization and have the chance to work on meaningful productions alongside passionate theatre professionals.
