Tracy Thorne's solo work Jack Was Kind opens its Off-Broadway run at Irish Repertory Theatre November 17. Making its world premiere in its first staged production on the W. Scott McLucas Studio Stage, performances began November 9 for the run through December 18.

Performing the 70-minute monologue herself, Thorne explores complicity in power structures—and personal complicity in them—through the intimate confessional solo play. A fictional imagining of a backstory to a real American event, Jack Was Kind presents a privileged woman who defends her husband, his illicit behavior, and her own role.

Nicholas A. Cotz directs the production, having previously directed its original presentation via Zoom at All For One Theater in October 2020. Also serving on the creative team are scenic designer David Esler (rogerandtom), costume designer Haydee Zelideth (House Plant), lighting designer Kate McGee (I'm Revolting), and production stage manager Michael Palmer (Made by God).
