Casey Stangl directs John Ross Bowie's Cold War comedy thriller.

The world premiere of John Ross Bowie's Brushstroke officially opens at Los Angeles' Odyssey Theatre January 27 following previews that began January 23. Performances continue through March 3.

Directed by Casey Stangl, the cast of the Cold War comedy thriller features James Urbaniak, Malcolm Barrett, Brendan Hines, and Evangeline Edwards.

Brushstroke is set in 1956 on the Lower East Side, where Marvin (Barrett), a young art patron with a secret, meets Ted (Urbaniak), a middle-aged painter with a secret.

The production also has set design by Keith Mitchell, lighting design by Soran Schwartz, sound design and fight coordination by Marc Antonio Pritchett, costume design by Christine Cover Ferro, and properties design by Joyce Hutter.

The production stage manager is Lexie Secrist, and the assistant stage manager is Andrew Blahak.
