Two big names with ties to theatre are ready to play dirty in a new scam artist comedy, The Hustle, in theatres May 10.
Anne Hathaway (an Oscar winner for Les Misérables) and Rebel Wilson (who played Adelaide in London's Guys and Dolls), play two women scheming to steal from problematic men and top each other in a high-stakes battle of the cons. Tony winner Alex Sharp (Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime) also appears in the film.
Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Chris Addison, The Hustle is based on the 1988 film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, which itself was adapted into a musical in 2005.
The musical earned a Best Musical Tony nomination, and recent My Fair Lady star Norbert Leo Butz took home the trophy for his leading performance. It featured a score by Tony winner David Yazbek (The Band’s Visit, Tootsie).
Watch the trailer above to see Hathaway and Wilson adopt various accents, play dress-up, and get into plenty of shenanigans. The first trailer was released earlier this year.
