Video Watch Olivia Newton-John's Final Music Video, Duet of 'Jolene' With Dolly Parton

Ms. Newton-John, who passed away last year, will also be remembered in a global live-streamed memorial service February 26.

Grease film star Olivia Newton-John, who passed away August 8, 2022, at the age of 73, can be seen opposite fellow Grammy winner Dolly Parton singing a reimagined version of Parton's hit "Jolene" in a new music video. Watch the two artists perform in the video above, the final song Newton-John recorded before her passing.

The video was edited by Andrew Seger and produced by Green Hill. Newton-John previously recorded an acclaimed version of Parton’s “Jolene” for her 1976 studio album Come On Over.

The new version of "Jolene" will also be featured on the upcoming album Just the Two of Us: The Duets Collection. The 17-track recording, to be released May 5, features Newton-John performing opposite Mariah Carey, Michael McDonald, John Travolta, Barry Gibb, Vanessa Amorossi, Jon Secada, and her daughter Chloe Lattanzi, among others.

"My first memory of Olivia was when her song ‘Let Me Be There’ was a hit. I have loved her ever since,” says Parton. "We had many occasions that we got to share together, either backstage or performing on the same shows, and I loved every moment that I ever got to spend with her. I've always been inspired by her grit, tenderness, willingness, and determination.”

Parton adds, "My last memory of Olivia was when I sang with her on my song ‘Jolene’ which she recorded for an album not so very long ago. I cannot wait to hear that album, and, Olivia, may you rest in peace. You left a spot that one else will ever fill."

“I have always wanted to record with Dolly,” the late Newton-John said during an interview in 2021. “She was always there for me, and what she did for me early on in my career in Nashville is something I will never forget.”

Four-time Grammy winner Newton-John will also be remembered February 26 in a memorial service in Melbourne, Australia, that will be live streamed globally. Details will be announced at a later date.
