A momentous election day is upon us, and Broadway is working to make sure everyone gets out to vote. To help send out that message, everyone's favorite theatrical band of activists—the Newsies—teamed up with cast members of Broadway's Suffs and more to sing a special version of the Disney musical's "Carrying the Banner." "Carrying the Message" features Alan Menken's original music, plus newly penned lyrics by Newsies lyricist Jack Feldman and Harvey Fierstein. Kenny Ortega, director and choreographer of the original Newsies film, directed the performance, with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Will Van Dyke served as arranger, orchestrator, and music supervisor. The video is produced by Broadway Votes, BFD Productions, and Kenny Ortega Company.
