Bill Van Horn will direct The Glass Menagerie, which is to be the first Walnut Street Theatre production to embark on a national tour. It will play 18 venues in six states.

The famous 1944 "memory play" tells of the broken dreams and faint hopes of the Wingfield family in an apartment in St. Louis. Tom tells the story of his mother, Amanda, a faded Southern Belle, who pushes Tom and shy sister Laura toward better lives. Laura finds hope when Tom brings home a gentleman caller.

The creative team includes set designer Andrew Thompson, lighting designer Shon Causer, costume designer Mary Folino, sound designer and composer Chris Colucci, and stage manager Angela Cucco.
