Sarah Paulson won the 2024 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in a Play for her work in Appropriate on Broadway. This is Paulson's first Tony Award win, though she previously won a Primetime Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award.
Backstage after her win, Paulson was practically speechless when processing the achievement. "I don't even know that I have the words right now to really express what I feel, except that I feel so proud to be part of this community, and I'm so proud to be an actor. I feel so proud to be lucky enough to have an opportunity to do work that I love, and to make a living at it. I really do believe it is the only way you can make other people feel less alone on the planet, because anytime you're up there revealing some human behavior, you're making one person that audience go 'it's not just me', and that is a very profound thing to make your life's work."
See everything Paulson had to say after accepting the honor in the video above, in an interview with Playbill's Jeffrey Vizcaíno!
