Cool Rider, the unofficial sequel to Grease, stages a 10th anniversary concert in London April 14 at the London Palladium. The musical parody grew its cult following of fans after playing two nights only at London's Lyric Theatre in 2014, followed by a one-week-only run at the Duchess Theatre due to popular demand.
Christopher D. Clegg directs the concert production, which centers on the leader of the Pink Ladies who has a fling with English transfer student Michael Carrington. The only way she can stay with him, however, is by becoming a T-Bird.
The cast includes Aaron Sidwell (Wicked), Ashleigh Gray (Wicked), Kitty Scott-Claus, and Maxwell Caulfield (Chicago).
Cool Rider features musical direction and orchestrations by Lee Freeman, choreography by Matt Krzan, original direction by Guy Unsworth, lighting design by Toby Darvill, and sound design by Will Thompson. Cool Rider was originally conceived and co-produced by Christopher D. Clegg and James DP Drury.
