Stars in the House, the award-winning streaming variety and fundraising show co-hosted by Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley Jackson, will live stream The Broadway Sitzprobe Experience: She Loves Me May 6 beginning at 7 PM ET.

Performing and rehearsing the score will be an orchestra made up of members from Musicians United for Social Equity (MUSE) and Maestra Music, joined by a bevy of Broadway vocalists. Rudetsky and Jackson will host.

This sitzprobe—the musical rehearsal where cast and orchestra play the score together for the first time—will be conducted by Sean Mayes. Lending their vocal talent to the live workshop will be Tony nominee Tony Yazbeck, Ta'Nika Renée Gibson, Gay Willis, Sal Viviano, and Adam B. Shapiro. Reprising their roles from the Tony-nominated 1993 She Loves Me revival will be Brad Kane, Tony nominee Sally Mayes, and Lee Wilkof.

As an educational master class, this sitzprobe is an open rehearsal to give new orchestral players the experience to be hired in Broadway orchestras. Both MUSE and Maestra Music foster community and diversity within theatrical music departments for underrepresented groups, including persons of color, women, and non-binary people.

The 1963 romantic musical comedy She Loves Me, with a book by Joe Masteroff, music by Jerry Bock, and lyrics by Sheldon Harnick, features such tunes as "Dear Friend," "I Resolve," "Tonight at Eight," "Will He Like Me?," "Vanilla Ice Cream," "Days Gones By," "Grand Knowing You," "Try Me," and the title song. Harold Prince directed and produced the original Broadway production, which was nominated for five 1964 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Jack Cassidy, who co-starred opposite Barbara Cook, won the Tony for his performance as Steven Kodaly.

The Broadway Sitzprobe Experience began in January with Guys and Dolls, conducted by David Chase, and followed with Dreamgirls, conducted by Rudetsky.

Music Theatre International has given The Broadway Sitzprobe Experience free access to its entire catalogue of scores; She Loves Me is one of the organization's many titles.
