Feinstein’s/54 Below, the 134-seat supper club located below Studio 54, will boast these events of interest to theatre folk the week of March 23–29:
March 23: Futurefest Foundation of New American Musicals and Open Hydrant Theater Company sponsor this showcase of high school and college students singing songs from new musicals written by leading and rising lyricists/composers. The 7 PM concert features Anderson, Avery, Harrison Bryan, Bryant, Ashley Curry, Cutler, Grace Gerber, Kat Griffin, Rose Hanish, Sofia Kalinda, Kathryn, Kelsey Kindall, Veronica McFarlane, Chazz Padilla, Pollard, Poon, Gianna Porfano, Soria, Norberto Troncoso, and Meital Ziegal.
March 23: Chris Stevens: Unwritten A cabaret of pop and Broadway songs about “lessons learned, everyday surprises and making the future bright and memorable,” from an actor who has appeared in several national tours. Special guests include Emily Price, Asher Dubin, Kelsey McCollaum, Chelsea Williams, and Jenna Dallaccos; 9:30 PM.
March 24, 25, 29: Micky Dolenz: A Little Bit Broadway, A Little Bit Rock ’n’ Roll, Solo concert from the one-time Monkees musician who appeared on Broadway in Aida; 7 PM. Click here for details.
March 24: Red Mountain Theatre Company Reunion of actors who got their start at the Birmingham, Alabama, theatre; 9:30 PM.
March 24: Nathan Lucrezio Currently appearing in Disney’s Aladdin, Lucrezio will perform pop and show songs as he tells the story of his journey to Broadway; 11:30 PM.
March 25: Songs on My Music Stand: Coco Dolenz The singer will peform “I’m Still Here,” “The Lady is a Tramp,” “They Can’t Take That Away,” “God Bless the Child,” “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy,” and other standards, with a special appearance by her brother, former Monkee Micky Dolenz; 9:30 PM.
March 25: Father Forgive Me for I Have Sinned: José Roldan, Jr. Solo show about growing up as a Latino and a gay man in the Bronx; 11:30 PM.
March 26: Sondheim Unplugged This revue of Stephen Sondheim songs has been seen at various venues around New York since 2010. Special guests scheduled for the March 26 show: Dee Hoty, Sarah Rice, and Bruce Sabath; 7 PM.
March 26: 54 Loves You: A Concert for Mental Health Revue of “songs from Broadway shows, pop songs, and films, along with stories of perseverance, survival, and compassion as well as the awkward, off-putting, and hilarious,” designed to “celebrate life and bring awareness to the importance of mental health.” The evening features Drew Gasparini, Julie Mattison, and other New York stage performers, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention; 9:30 PM.
March 27 and 30: Seth Rudetsky, Kevin Chamberlin, Roger Bart, and Kerry Butler! Rudetsky hosts this mini reunion of actors from his 2016 Broadway musical Disaster!; 9:30 PM. Click here for details.
March 28: New Musical: Tara Tremendous! Micky Dolenz, MiMi Ryder, and Kecia Lewis are featured in this showcase of songs by Stewart St. John & Michael Plahuta for their musical about a little girl who acquires super powers; 7 PM.
March 28: Alexis Michelle The drag artist recounts her life story with the help of songs ranging from standards like “Bill” to Broadway character numbers like “A Call from the Vatican” and new interpretations of contemporary pop hits; 9:30 PM.
March 29: Songs of Protest A revue of folk, pop, and Broadway political songs sung by Larry Owens, Ashleigh Rainey, Andrew Samonsky, Nellie McKay, and more. A portion of the proceeds from this event will go to support the American Civil Liberties Union; 9:30 PM.
