News The Flea to Stage First Revival of John Patrick Shanley Play Starring Broadway Vet Off-Broadway's Attic Theater Company will stage John Patrick Shanley's The Dreamer Examines His Pillow at the Flea Theater in New york this summer, the first official revival of the play since its premiere in 1986. The cast will feature Dennis Parlato in the role of the menacing but comedic father. Parlato's numerous credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, The Sound of Music and A Chorus Line.

Directed by Laura Braza, performances are set to begin July 25 with an official opening night set for July 30.

The cast also features Lauren Nicole Cipoletti (Macbeth at CSC) and Shane Patrick Kearns ("Peter and John").

Shanley's The Dreamer Examines His Pillow explores the relationship between on-again, off-again lovers Donna and Tommy and their attempts at finding their way through a maze of love, lust, family and art.

Writer and director Shanley is the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize, Tony Award for Best Play for Doubt as well as an Oscar-winning screenwriter for Moonstruck. He also penned the screenplay to the film adaptation of Doubt, starring Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Playbill.com recently announced the world premiere of his latest work, Prodigal Son at MTC Theatre Off-Broadway in Jan. 2016.
