The Book of Mormon, winner of nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, will launch a new national tour during the 2022-2023 season that will visit four dozen cities across America, 25 of which the hit musical has never played.
Itinerary and casting for the non-Equity tour will be announced at a later date.
The Book of Mormon features book, music, and lyrics by Trey Parker, Robert Lopez, and Matt Stone.
The Broadway production is choreographed by Casey Nicholaw with direction by Nicholaw and Parker, set design by Scott Pask, costume design by Ann Roth, lighting design by Brian MacDevitt, and sound design by Brian Ronan. Orchestrations are by Larry Hochman and Stephen Oremus. Music direction and vocal arrangements are by Oremus.
The Book of Mormon opened on Broadway March 24, 2011, at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre, where it resumed performances November 4, 2021, following the pandemic. In addition to nine Tony Awards, the production won five Drama Desk Awards, including Best Musical; the NY Drama Critics Circle Award for Best Musical; the Drama League Award for Best Musical; and four Outer Critics Circle Awards, including Best Musical.
