After Diana Trout revealed her secret affinity for singing show tunes at Marie's Crisis in Season 3, the ladies of Younger will return to the famed piano bar in the TV Land series' upcoming sixth season.
In the trailer above, stars Sutton Foster, Miriam Shor, and Hillary Duff reveal—with creator Darren Star—that the comedy will finally take advantage of all three's musical capabilities.
"I'm going to be singing again, which makes me feel like my parents maybe called Darren Star and were like, 'We want her to sing again; we loved it,'" says Shor. The Off-Broadway stage favorite plays publishing honcho Diana, whose theatrical taste (including having a bird named Elphaba and, as the trailer teases, a knack for belting what appears to be La Cage's "I Am What I Am") is at odds with her stern demeanor and intimidating statement necklaces.
"There are reasons why the characters are singing, and it's fun to find them," Star adds.
The new season, set to premiere June 12, will also get some added Broadway power from such guest stars as Tony winners Beth Leavel and Laura Benanti.
