The new musical centers on a group of college students auditioning to join an elite All Star step dance team.

Tyrone L. Robinson's Step Kids, a new one-act, hip-hop musical, will hold workshop performances at Off-Broadway's Fled Collective later this month. Tickets are available for performances October 26-28 at 7 PM.

The development workshop is a part of the second season for the collective at Tribeca’s Flea Theater. Step Kids centers on a group of college students auditioning to join an elite All Star step dance team. The workshop production is produced by Dolores Avery Pereira.

With additional music by Postell Pringle and direction by Raz Golden, the show shares the history of step dancing in the United States, as well as its roots in African dance traditions.

Starring in the developmental workshop are Kamiah Vickers, Dyce Stephens, Tisa Harriott, Krystal Renée, Erin Cherry, Brandon M. Weber, Brooke Cottrell, and Alesha Jeter.  They are choreographed by James Alonzo White.
