Vineyard Theatre has revealed complete casting for its upcoming world premiere of John J. Caswell, Jr.'s Scene Partners, which will star Oscar winner Dianne Wiest as previously announced. Rachel Chavkin is directing, with performances slated to begin October 26 ahead of a November 12 opening night.

The work follows Meryl (Wiest), who late-in-life decides to leave Milwaukee for Hollywood to become a movie star. The limited engagement will run through December 3. Caswell is Vineyard Theatre’s 2020-21 Paula Vogel Playwriting Award winner.

Joining Wiest in the cast will be Eric Berryman (Primary Trust) as Dr. Noah Drake, Johanna Day (Sweat) as Charlize, Josh Hamilton (Reality) as Hugo, Carmen M. Herlihy (Mrs. Murray's Menagerie) as Cassie, and Kristen Sieh (The Band's Visit) as Pauline. Casting is by Calleri Jensen Davis.

Chavkin's creative team has also been announced. The production will feature scenic design by Riccardo Hernández, costume design by Brenda Abbandandolo, lighting design by Alan Edwards, sound design by Leah Gelpe, video and projection design by David Bengali, prop design by Andrew Diaz, and hair and wig design by Leah Loukas. Rachel A. Zucker will be production stage manager, and Anne Troup is video producer.

"We are thrilled to have such an extraordinary cast and design team to bring John J. Caswell, Jr.'s brilliant and hilarious Scene Partners to life," says Vineyard Artistic Director Sarah Stern in a statement. "We knew we had to produce this play from the first draft, and now, with this dream team of artists and the visionary direction of Rachel Chavkin, we truly can't wait to share Meryl's unforgettable journey from Milwaukee to Hollywood with audiences."
