The Taming of the Shrew, which opened June 11, kicks off The Old Globe’s Summer Shakespeare Festival at the Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Performances continue through July 10.

Directed by Shana Cooper, the cast includes Armando Durán as Baptista, Felicity Jones Latta as Tranio, Orville Mendoza as Grumio, Jesse J. Perez as Gremio, Cassia Thompson as Bianca, John Tufts as Hortensio/Biondello/Merchant, James Udom as Petrucio, and Deborah Ann Woll as Katherine.

The cast also includes students in The Old Globe and University of San Diego Shiley Graduate Theatre Program: Henian Boone, Brett Cassidy, Jacqui Dupré, Savannah Faye, Komi M. Gbeblewou, Camilla Leonard, Becca Lustgarten, Jeffrey Rashad, Bernadette Sefic, Jude Tibeau, Nathan VanAtta, and Maggie Walters.

The production also has scenic design by Wilson Chin, costume design by Ásta Bennie Hostetter, lighting design by Stephen Strawbridge, sound design by Paul Peterson and Paul James Prendergast, original music by Paul James Prendergast, voice and text coaching by Ursula Meyer, movement consulting by Tiffany Rachelle Stewart, casting by Alaine Alldaffer and Lisa Donadio, production stage management by Marie Jahelka, and assistant stage management by Kendra Stockton.
