Stage and screen producer Scott Sanders, a Tony winner for the Broadway revival of The Color Purple, will bring his production company to Westfield Corporation.
Sanders has been tapped as Westfield’s first-ever Creative Head of Global Entertainment, with the entirety of Scott Sanders Theatrical Productions being acquired by the corporation. Sanders will be tasked with “creating immersive entertainment and experiential events destined for Westfield properties around the globe, while continuing to develop and produce a targeted group of first-class Broadway shows, live entertainment and other media productions.”
Joining Sanders will be longtime collaborator Carol Fineman, who has been appointed Vice President, Theatrical Productions and Producer.
Sanders and his team will continue to shepherd leading projects, including the film adaptation of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Tony-winning musical In the Heights, as well as the Broadway-aimed stage productions of Tootsie, Coal Miner’s Daughter and Up Here.
“I am elated to take on this unique opportunity to join the Westfield team that is reinventing the concept of innovative, location-based entertainment,” Sanders said in a statement announcing the acquisition. “With a focus on their flagship centers around the world, the possibilities are thrilling.”
