Tony nominee Sally Mayes offers Now and Then: The Teaser, the opening show of her new concert series, December 2 at 9:30 PM at The Green Room 42.
Mayes, Tony-nominated for her work in the 1993 Roundabout Theatre Company
revival of She Loves Me, realized she has a plethora of stories and a lot of great arrangements—and she wants to sing all of them.
The evening, which will also be live streamed, features music director Ron Abel on piano with Tom Hubbard on bass.
Mayes made her Broadway debut in Cy Coleman’s Welcome to the Club, earning a Theatre World Award
and an Outer Critics Circle nomination. In addition to the aforementioned She Loves Me, her Broadway credits also include Urban Cowboy (Drama Desk nomination) and the revival of Steel Magnolias. Mayes played Mae West in the national tour of Dirty Blonde, and her screen credits include Alpha House, City Hall, Double Parked, Bye Bye Birdie, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Sex and the City, and The Job.
Next year, Carnegie Hall's house band will perform Bernstein’s “Kaddish” Symphony, unfinished works by Schubert, and the final concert of Conductor Bernard Labadie.
