The reviews are rolling in for Sharr White's photo memoir inspired play Pictures From Home, which began previews January 13 at Studio 54. Based on Larry Sultan's 1992 autobiographical photo album of the same name, the play tracks a mother, father, and son who photograph their lives as they journey from Brooklyn to the San Fernando Valley.
Nathan Lane stars as father Irving in the three-person cast, opposite Tony winner Danny Burstein as his son Larry (Moulin Rouge!, Fiddler on the Roof) and Tony nominee Zoë Wanamaker (Awake and Sing!) as the mother, Jean. Bartlett Sher directs the production.
Pictures From Home was previously developed by New York Stage and Film in 2019 with director Danielle Tool, and received a developmental reading at Houston's Alley Theatre in 2020 directed by Rob Melrose.
