Marathon—a new musical with a book and lyrics by Kara Cutruzzula (Letters From May) and music by Kristoffer Bjarke (Letters From May, Tomorrow)—will receive two private industry readings December 6 at Open Jar Studios in Manhattan.
Directed by Tyrone L. Robinson (Swept Away), the cast will feature Tony nominee Liz Callaway (Baby, Miss Saigon), Thom Sesma (Dead Outlaw), Leana Rae Concepcion (Merrily We Roll Along), Stephanie Bacastow (A Little Night Music), and Tracy Sallows (The Audience).
Marathon is described as "a journey of endurance, hope, and finding connection over 26.2 miles."
Music direction will be provided by Simone Allen. Mix and Match Productions serve as general managers.
Cutruzzula and Bjarke previously collaborated on the musical Letters From May, which is licensed by MTI/Theatre Now New York.
