Amidst April rainfall, the sun is shining on performers, directors, playwrights, and other theatre artists who celebrate their birthdays this month. Full of shine and full of sparkle, April is a joyful month for a host of talent who have sprouted on Broadway. Let's shower them with well wishes as they begin a new year. April 3 is birthday a "Modern Major-General," David Hyde Pierce (soon to be seen in Pirates! The Penzance Musical), closer Alec Baldwin (A Streetcar Named Desire), and roommate Marsha Mason (The Roommate).
Robert Downey Jr. (McNeal) is our new obsession on April 4, when the Oscar-winner celebrates his birthday.
We'll be doing the "Chan Chan" on April 5 for Natalie Venetia Belcon (this season's Buena Vista Social Club), and Todrick Hall (the West End's Burlesque the Musical).
April 6 is sure to be a day full of Grace for Paul Rudd (Three Days of Rain) as he celebrates his birthday.
April 9 is a banner day for Cynthia Nixon (The Little Foxes) as she celebrates her birthday.
"OMIGOD You Guys!" April 10 is Laura Bell Bundy's (Legally Blonde) birthday!
It's Broadway's Master of Ceremonies Joel Grey's birthday on April 11th. Anything Goes while celebrating the actor, director, and photographer as he completes another Grand Tour around the sun. The Golden Globe, Tony, and Oscar winner has danced through life on the Broadway stage, originating roles in Cabaret, Chicago, Wicked, and George M!
Happy Birthday, and Good Luck to Ilana Glazer (this season's Good Night, and Good Luck), Brendon Urie (Kinky Boots) on their April 12 birthday.
We'll all be giving The Look of Love to Liz Callaway (Miss Saigon) on April 13th. The Tony nominee has also brought voice to beloved animated characters such as Anya in Anastasia, Kiara in The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, and Odette in The Swan Princess.
April 14's "Sparkling Diamond" is choreographer Sonya Tayeh (this season's Romeo and Juliet, Moulin Rouge! The Musical).

We'd like to propose a toast for Patti LuPone's birthday on April 21. Everything will be coming up roses for the three-time Tony winner (Evita, Gypsy, Company), who returned to Broadway this past fall in The Roommate. Also celebrating on April 21 are Clybourne Elder (Company) and Ruthie Ann Miles (The King and I).
April 24 is a gorgeous day to say hello to the Screen Actor's Guild Life Achievement Award recipient Barbra Streisand (Funny Girl), and Peter Friedman (Rent), star of last year's psychological thriller Job.
