The "Love Story" Goes On as Ali MacGraw and Ryan O'Neal Reunite Over Letters
Gurney's tale of first loves, friendships and rekindled romances follows the ever-evolving relationship between Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner through a series of letters they write each other since childhood. Over a 50 year friendship, the two are unable let go of one another.
MacGraw (Melissa) has been seen on Broadway in Festen, and O'Neal (Andrew) is known for his work on film and television. Both were Oscar-nominated for their performances in "Love Story."
Love Letters was originally produced on Broadway by Nelle Nugent, Barbara Broccoli, Frederick Zollo, Olympus Theatricals, Michael G. Wilson, Lou Spisto, Colleen Camp, Postmark Entertainment Group, Judith Ann Abrams/Pat Flicker Addiss, Kenneth Teaton; in association with Jon Bierman, Tim Degraye, Daniel Frishwasser, Elliott Masie, Mai Nguyen, Scott Lane/Joseph Sirola, Jonathan Demar/Jeffrey Solis.
Filmed in 2023, the one-night-only event featured Brian Stokes Mitchell, Audra McDonald, Peter Friedman, and more from the Ahrens and Flaherty musical's original cast.
