Broadway and Vine, the concert series that pairs the best of Broadway with the best of Wine Country, recently launched its third season with performances by Tony winner Sutton Foster (The Music Man, Anything Goes, Drowsy Chaperone) and Darren Criss (Glee, American Buffalo, Hedwig and the Angry Inch) in Napa Valley.
Foster was joined by music supervisor Michael Rafter (Funny Girl) August 2, while Criss accompanied himself on piano and guitar July 28. The Broadway favorites were joined by students of Broadway and Vine’s young artist mentorship program, Amarech Mendez (with Criss) and Mia Pelosi (with Foster).
The concert series will continue throughout the summer in Napa Valley vineyards with Erika Henningsen (Mean Girls) August 16, Natalie Tenenbaum (David Byrne’s American Utopia) August 17, Brooke Shields (Wonderful Town) August 29, and Olivier nominee Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, Butley, South Pacific) with Tony nominee Scott Frankel (War Paint) September 26.
Broadway and Vine was founded by Tony nominee Jacob Langfelder (Sea Wall/A Life) to provide mentorship, master class and performance opportunities for students and pre-professional performing artists.
Tickets are on sale at BroadwayandVine.org.
