Rehearsals are officially underway for Lincoln Center Theater's upcoming Off-Broadway premiere of Katori Hall's The Blood Quilt. Performances are set to begin October 30 ahead of a November 21 opening night at the company's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater, with the run continuing through December 29. The cast features Crystal Dickinson, Mirirai, Adrienne C. Moore, Arsema Thomas, and Susan Kelechi Watson.
Lileana Blain-Cruz is directing the work, about four sisters gathering at their childhood home to create a family quilt in honor of their recently deceased mother. When her will is read, the family has to deal with a troubling inheritance. The play had its world premiere in 2015 at Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage.
LCT's production features scenic design by Adam Rigg, costume design by Montana Levi Blanco, lighting design by Jiyoun Chang, sound design by Palmer Hefferan, and projection design by Jeanette Oi-Suk Yew. Theresa Flanagan is stage managing.
