Start spreading the news: with previews beginning at the end of this month, New York, New York rehearsals are underway. The musical—featuring a score by John Kander, Fred Ebb, and Lin-Manuel Miranda—will begin performances March 24 ahead of an April 26 opening night at Broadway's St. James Theatre. As previously announced, the new musical, inspired by the 1977 film of the same name, will be led by Colton Ryan and Anna Uzele.
Inspired by the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Motion Picture New York, New York, written by Earl M. Rauch and Mardik Martin, the new musical is set in 1946. The war is over, and a collection of artists has dreams as big and diverse as the city itself. Among them is Francine Evans (Uzele), a young singer just off the bus from Philly, who is destined for greatness. At least, until she encounters New York native Jimmy Doyle (Ryan), a brilliant but disillusioned musician.

Prose and Sigala both make their Broadway debuts with the production.
