Industry News League of Professional Theatre Women Will Interview 5-Time Tony Winner Susan Stroman

Tony-nominated New York, New York librettist Sharon Washington will chat with the director-choreographer.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present an interview with five-time Tony-winning director-choreographer Susan Stroman—most recently represented on Broadway with the new musical New York, New YorkNovember 17 at the Bruno Walter Auditorium at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center.

Playwright Sharon Washington, Tony-nominated for co-writing the book to the aforementioned New York, New York, will interview Stroman. The oral history begins at 6 PM.

This event, which is open to the public, is part of the League of Professional Theatre Women’s Oral History Project in partnership with the Library.

Stroman has been honored with Tony, Olivier, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Lucille Lortel, and Astaire Awards (renamed the Chita Rivera Awards). She is the recipient of the George Abbott Award for Lifetime Achievement in the American Theater and a member of the Theater Hall of Fame in New York City

Her numerous Broadway credits include The Producers (winner of a record-breaking 12 Tony Awards), The Scottsboro Boys (nominated for 12 Tony Awards and the winner of the London Evening Standard Award for Best Musical), Prince of Broadway, Contact, Bullets Over Broadway, Big Fish, Crazy For You, Show Boat, Oklahoma!, The Frogs, The Music Man, Thou Shalt Not, Steel Pier, Big, Picnic, POTUS, and New York, New York.
